there’s been a lot of talk on facebook and tumblr and blah blah blah internet about the ucb v. kurt metzger thing and the splitsider list, which i was excited to get asked to do, but then hurt myself last night and ended up sending in my list late so i don’t even know how much it counted for.

i think i’m done thinking about it. people get overly caught up in their place in the scene and end up saying catty bullshit that they don’t really mean. put your head down, work hard, be kind, be undeniably amazing, thank the people who have done nice things to you and helped your career, stop shitting on each other. it’s a waste of your creative energy.

there will always be politics. there will always be lists. there will always be someone important who doesn’t think you’re funny when you know you are. none of it matters compared to you and your work. and focusing on it is only going to make your work weird and bitter. so quit it.
